FSSAI

FSSAI is Associate in Nursing autonomous body established underneath the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The FSSAI has been established underneath the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. FSSAI is accountable for protective and promoting public health through the regulation and management of food safety.

If anyone or food business operator (except the persons exempted from licensing underneath sub-section (2) of section 31 of this Act),himself or by anyone on his behalf who is needed to get licence, makers, sells,stores, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which can be six months and additionally with a fine which can be Rs.5 lakh.

  • Anyone either by themselves or through the other person on their behalf manufactures purchasable, store or sells or distributes or imports any food article for human consumption that is mislabeled are going to be vulnerable to a penalty that’s extended up to Rs. 3 lakhs.
  • The Adjudicating Officer is eligible to issue a direction to someone found guilty of Associate in Nursing offense underneath this section, for taking corrective action to rectify the mistakes or such articles of food are going to be destroyed.

Anyone either by themselves or through the other person manufactures/processes any food article for human consumption underneath unhygienic or insanitary conditions are going to be vulnerable to pay a penalty of up to Rs. 1 lakh.

  • Anyone either by themselves or through the other person on their behalf manufactures purchasable, store or sells or distributes or imports any food article for human consumption that is mislabeled are going to be vulnerable to a penalty that’s extended up to Rs. 3 lakhs.

  • Fats, oils and fat emulsions
  • Fruits and Vegetable product

  • Sweets & confectionery, different foodstuff and ingredients

FSSAI issues 3 types of licence based on nature of food business and turnover :

  • Registration: For Turnover less than 12 lakh
  • State License: For Turnover between 12 lakh to 20 crore
  • Central License: For Turnover above 20 crore
